Bored Piles

In February 2014 Thiess Construction awarded Avopiling the contract to construct the main, bored pile supported bridges for the new Moreton Bail Rail Link Project, located to the north of Brisbane, to link, via numerous stations, the Redcliffe Peninsula to the main Queensland Rail main line at Petrie.

Scope of Works

The works required Avopiling to work on 11 different structures for the project. 333 piles were constructed ranging in diameters from 600mm to 1500mm and depths to 29m. A number of piles required the use of permanent steel casings. Piles on the North Pine River Bridge required a combination of steel casing with the excavation below the steel casing being supported with polymeric drilling slurry.
